These compounds are increasingly prevalent in the environment and are notorious for bioaccumulation in animal and human body tissues. GenX – also known by its chemical compound name Hexafluoropropylene Oxide Dimer Acid (HFPO-DA) – has gained attention in recent years, along with other related-PFAS compounds, after the widely reported chemical spill at the Chemours Fayetteville Works in North Carolina.

While many industries have voluntarily stopped use of PFAS compounds, the stability and persistence of these compounds makes them a lifetime concern, as even extremely low levels have been shown to have deleterious human health effects and can bioaccumulate over time.

This water test package provides the required materials to properly collect and submit a sample for certified laboratory testing. Reported results will include detailed, quantified analysis of 25 PFAS compounds by EPA Method 533 (or equivalent) down to concentrations below 2 parts per trillion (ppt).
