Ridgewood Water Department Public Notice
Our PFAS water test includes the most common PFAS (also known as "forever chemicals") in drinking water. PFAS related compounds like PFOA and PFOS are most often associated with industrial waste and from consumer products, flame retardants, and non-stick products. While many industries have voluntarily stopped use of PFAS compounds, the stability and persistence of these compounds makes them a lifetime concern – as even extremely low levels have been shown to have deleterious human health effects. If PFAS levels are high in your water, you can use bottled water or obtain water filtration.
This water test package provides the required materials to properly collect and submit a sample for certified laboratory testing. Reported results will include detailed, quantified analysis of 14 common PFAS compounds down to concentrations below 2 parts per trillion (PPT).
